Instagram Breaks 3 Billion Monthly Active Users
JAKARTA Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced an important achievement for Instagram. The social media platform that is integrated with Threads now has 3 billion monthly active users.
This is an important achievement for Meta. The reason is, Instagram is the next platform to have 3 billion active users, following WhatsApp which scored this achievement last April.
"Renewing a fun milestone for anyone who counts: Instagram now has 3 billion monthly activities," Zuckerberg wrote on the Threadszuck account, quoted on Thursday, September 25.
This achievement was achieved almost four years after Instagram reached 2 billion monthly users in December 2021. Although it took years, this shows that the platform's growth rate continues to increase.
Apart from Instagram and WhatsApp, Meta also has a platform with three billion other monthly users. The platform is Facebook. This user figure was achieved and announced in January.

According to a Bloomberg report, Instagram's growth was driven by the presence of personal messaging (DM) features and Reels short videos. Both features have been the focus of Meta development over the past few years, even over the next few years.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has stated that there will be some significant changes to Instagram. The app will get new capabilities, where DM and Reels will be easily accessible via the main navigation bar.
In addition, Mosseri said that the Instagram algorithm would be updated to give users more control. They can choose which topics they want more often or more rarely appear in their feed and Reels.
