Menas Erwin Remains Under Intensive Questioning After Being Arrested By KPK On Wednesday Night
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still questioning the President Director of PT Wahana Adyarma, Menas Erwin Djohansyah, as a suspect in a bribery case involving the handling of cases within the Supreme Court (MA). He was arrested in the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area on Wednesday evening, September 24.
"Following the arrest, the person concerned was intensively questioned by investigators," KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Thursday, September 25.
Menas Erwin arrived at the KPK office at around 8:42 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) along with several investigators and officers. Forceful arrest was carried out due to the businessman's uncooperativeness.
Menas was reportedly summoned twice on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, August 12. However, he never appeared at the KPK's Merah Putih building in Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
Menas has been named a suspect along with former Supreme Court Secretary Hasbi Hasan in this bribery case. He was implicated after the KPK investigated the bribery case involving the handling of cases.
Furthermore, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is also investigating a bribery case involving the Supreme Court (MA) under suspicion of money laundering (TPPU). Although details have not been released, there are three suspects: Hasbi Hasan, singer Windy Idol, and Rinaldo Septariando B, a self-employed person who is also Windy's older brother.
As previously reported, the Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced former Supreme Court (MA) Secretary Hasbi Hasan to six years in prison for bribery in the case, and ordered him to pay a fine of IDR 1 billion and restitution of IDR 3,880,844,400, or an additional year in prison. He was found guilty of accepting bribes related to the handling of the Intidana Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP) case at the MA, along with Dadan Tri Yudianto, a former Independent Commissioner of Wijaya Karya (Wika).
In this case, Dadan Tri Yudianto's sentence was increased to nine years in prison from the original five years. He was ordered to pay a fine of IDR 1 billion and compensation of IDR 7.95 billion, or three years in prison.
