National Police Hospital Investigating Victim's Injuries To Reveal The Cause Of Death Of An 8-Year-Old Girl In Penjaringan

JAKARTA - The Kramat Jati National Police Hospital in East Jakarta is investigating signs of violence found on the body of a girl with the initials AR (8), found in a boarding room on Arwana Pejagalan Street, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, on Sunday, September 21.

"We are conducting additional tests to determine the cause of death. So, it's still in progress. We suspect blunt force trauma," said the Head of the Police Medical and Police Department at the Kramat Jati National Police Hospital, Senior Commissioner Ahmad Fauzi, at the Kramat Jati National Police Hospital, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 24.

Fauzi stated that his team conducted a complete forensic examination of the girl's body. The examination was conducted to determine the cause of death, as the victim was in a state of advanced decomposition upon arrival at the hospital.

The forensic team performed a number of standard procedures for examining a body.

"We also conducted toxicology and histopathology tests, which are standard operating procedures for examining a body," said Fauzi.

Hery Wijatmoko, a forensic doctor at the Kramat Jati National Police Hospital, who handled the examination, echoed this sentiment.

Hery stated that his team conducted additional investigations to strengthen the analysis.

"The body was already in advanced decomposition, so we are conducting a thorough examination," said Hery.

From the initial results, the forensic team found signs and suspected the victim died from blunt force trauma. However, the exact cause is still pending laboratory results.

Furthermore, the body's infestation with maggots is an indication of the time of death.

"We estimate it was at least three to five days from the time of death until it was discovered. It could be longer, depending on the environmental conditions around the location," said Hery.

The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of death.

The body, identified as AR (8), arrived at the National Police Hospital on Sunday, September 21, at 5:42 a.m. WIB. The examination was conducted that same day, starting at 8:15 a.m. WIB.

The body was found in a decomposing state and infested with maggots. Furthermore, the face appeared dehydrated, and there were injuries to the right and left sides of the neck, as well as an open wound on the head with blood seeping into the bone.

Furthermore, the examination also revealed a protrusion on the left anterior rib with a rough surface, suspected to be due to the bone healing process.
