Marquez Tense Ahead Of The 2025 Japanese MotoGP Race

JAKARTA Marc Marquez admits there is a tense feeling ahead of the 2025 Japan MotoGP race this weekend, which could allow him to secure the 2025 season world title.

The race at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit, Japan, will take place on 26-28 September 2025. Marquez only needs to add to the three-point advantage of his younger brother Alex Marquez to seal the title.

Marquez said that there must be extra pressure to face this weekend as he tries to become world champion again after the last time he did so in 2019.

"We will try to maintain the same mood. It's true that it's difficult because your body knows something big is coming."

"I know the press conference will find it difficult to answer the same question (about winning the world title), but we will try to maintain the same mentality and especially I want to maintain the same level," said the Ducati Lonovo Team driver.

The Baby Alien currently sits at the top of the drivers' standings with a collection of 512 points or 182 points ahead of his younger brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing) in second place.

With five races remaining after Motegi, Marquez only needs to increase the advantage to 185 points with his younger brother. If that happens then he will certainly win the world this year.

Scenarios to reach that point, Marquez needs to win the Sprint Race and must finish better than his younger brother in Sunday's main race.

Marquez insists that he is aiming for victory as much as possible in Motegi without the need to think about the world title that is already in sight.

"It will not be easy to ensure victory in Motegi because Alex, as we saw in the test at Misano, raced very quickly," he said.

This year's title made Marquez equal to his old rival Valentino Rossi, who both collected seven MotoGP titles. Both are adrift in one title from the legend Giacomo Agostini in the top position.
