Korea Open 2025: Ginting Finally Wins Again

JAKARTA Anthony Sinisuka Ginting's men's singles made it through the first round of the Korea Open 2025, which was his first win since his comeback after being absent for six months.

Ginting secured a place in the round of 16 of the tournament after successfully beating Yushi Tanaka from Japan with a score of 21-17 and 21-17 on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, morning WIB.

"Praise God, I am very grateful for today's results. Mainly I am grateful to be able to get through bad or difficult times on the field, starting from there," Ginting said after the match.

The Korea Open 2025 this week is Ginting's sixth tournament after he recovered from shoulder problems, which saw him sidelined after Malaysia Open 2025 in January.

In five tournaments before South Korea, Ginting was recorded as always returning in the first round. The five tournaments in question are the Japan Open, China Open, the BWF World Championships, the Hong Kong Open, and the China Masters.

Despite winning at the Korea Open 2025, Ginting had a difficult match, especially in the first game. He had to be forced to rise from behind 8-14 to secure victory.

"When I fell behind, the point is I didn't think about points first. It could be at that moment because of my mindset and inappropriate game."

"After I was able to find the right strategy, I finally got one point after another," said Ginting.

In the second half, Thursday, September 25, 2025, Ginting will meet another Japanese representative, namely the seventh seed Kenta Nishimoto. So far Ginting has led a record 8-5 wins.
