More Efficient, Tin Industry In Bangka Belitung Uses PLN Electricity

JAKARTA - One of the tin industries in Bangka Belitung, namely PT Mitra Stania Prima (MSP) has succeeded in increasing production efficiency by using reliable and environmentally friendly PLN electricity.

PT MSP Operations Director, An Sudarno explained that the shift from using its own power plant to PLN electricity brings significant differences to the company.

The production process, which was previously wasteful, is now running more efficiently, as well as producing more stable quality.

This is the company's foothold to continue to increase the capacity of electric power.

"After switching to electricity from PLN, the performance of the production process has increased significantly. Currently, PT MSP has used PLN electricity with an installed power of 5.7 megawatts (MW) and plans to increase its power capacity to increase efficiency and productivity," said An Sudarno, Wednesday, September 24.

In addition to efficiency in terms of production, he continued, the use of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) from PLN also provides strategic added value for PT MSP.

REC itself is a green instrument from PLN that makes it easier for customers to gain international recognition for the use of new and renewable energy (EBT).

It is known, one unit of REC is equivalent to 1 megawatt hour (MWh) or 1,000 kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity.

The use of REC is an important indicator that helps PT MSP achieve a two-time Green PROPER for Smelter units (2023 & 2024), as well as once for Mapur Mine (2024).
