DKI Provincial Government Targets Trial Of RDF Rorotan Next Week

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH), Asep Kuswanto, said that the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) trial for Plant Rorotan, North Jakarta, is targeted to be carried out next week if there are no obstacles.

"Next week (the trial starts) if we really have good preparations. The engine equipment conditions are all completely smooth. We invite the public so that there are no more issues," said Asep at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, September 24.

Previously, Asep had targeted Rorotan RDF to officially operate on September 24, 2025, but Rorotan RDF's operation was still rejected by local residents.

To reduce the atmosphere, DLH DKI Jakarta finally canceled the inauguration of RDF Rorotan today.

Asep said that his party had also reported to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, regarding this matter.

"I also reported to the Governor through Mr. Firdaus Ali, I said that 'We're sorry. This week we haven't been able to run'. Because indeed we understand the conditions below like that," said Asep.

If this week the situation has subsided, Asep continued, his party will seek to conduct a more massive commissional test.

"And yesterday I also conveyed to Mr. Agung (Head of PTSP Sampah) If indeed we really have a good prepare, the engine equipment conditions are all completely smooth, we invite the public," said Asep.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo also said that he wanted to invite the public to witness the commissioning process at RDF Rorotan in North Jakarta.

Pramono said the goal was to invite the public so that they could see firsthand that the promises previously given by the Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the Rorotan RDF had been fulfilled.

Pramono said that although now the Rorotan RDF has not been able to please all parties, improvements and improvements are still being carried out because it is the responsibility of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Moreover, the existence of RDF Rorotan has a good goal, namely to overcome the problem of waste in Jakarta.

Later, if the commissioning process runs smoothly, Pramono said his party would ask the Central Government to attend the inauguration of RDF Rorotan.
