The Ministry Of Social Affairs Will Check 12 Million Social Assistance Recipients Mistargeted

BANJARBARU - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) will come and examine one by one from 12 million beneficiaries of social assistance in various regions who have been proven to be wrong on program targets.

"We are coordinating with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to conduct a ground check on the 12 million recipients of this social assistance," said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf after providing briefing for social pillars at the Banjarbaru Social Welfare Training Center (BBPPKS), South Kalimantan, Tuesday, September 23.

After that, the Ministry of Social Affairs will deploy more than 33,000 companions to the Family Hope Program (PKH) spread across various regions to visit one by one from the 12 million recipients of the wrong target social assistance.

"While still deepening further data at BPS. BPS immediately registers carefully which ones are indicated," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

He revealed that from the findings of 12 million data on social assistance recipients who were not on target, many surprising things, some playing online gambling, some indicated having decent jobs but still receiving social assistance ranging from BUMN drivers, doctors, lawyers, TNI, Polri, and various other professions.

Social Minister Saifullah ensured that he would immediately revoke the status of beneficiaries who were not on target, but were still being investigated by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

After the data is accurate and validated, the Ministry of Social Affairs will transfer the social assistance to families who are more worthy of receiving assistance.

If it still violates the provisions, the Ministry of Social Affairs ensures that it revokes the status of beneficiaries for people who are still playing online gambling.

"We will follow up on various findings. If they are proven unfit as beneficiaries, they will not receive social assistance anymore," said the Minister of Social Affairs.

Regarding the findings of 12 million social assistance recipients who were not on target, the Ministry of Social Affairs has found several cases, namely the inclusion error or data error in determining the beneficiaries of social assistance, of which people or households who are not entitled or do not meet the requirements are registered and receive the assistance.

Then, the exclusion error or error in the process of distributing social assistance, which people who actually deserve to receive assistance are missed or not on the list of recipients. Finally, the NIK of the registered recipients is not active in civil or fictitious records.

In order for the distribution of social assistance to be right on target, the Ministry of Social Affairs took several steps, namely diverting PKH assistance and basic necessities of more than 2 million KPM in the second and third quarters of 2025, diverting 9.5 million JK Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI).

Then, diverting 628 thousand KPM indicated online gambling, diverting 138 thousand KPM who are indicated to be proper professions such as ASN, TNI, Polri, DPR, DPRD, BUMN and other professions, relegating 7,854 KPM, and as many as 548 KPM have resigned.
