Government Needs 17 Million Biodiesel KL For Biodiesel 45

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung revealed that the government's 45 percent mandatory implementation of biodiesel fuel (BBN) requires 17 million kilo liters (KL) of biodiesel raw materials.

"So in 2025 we have implemented B40 and we are also mapping whether in 2026 the mandatory will be carried out for B45 or B50," said Yuliot, Tuesday, September 23.

Yuliot added that currently the availability of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) in 2025 is 1.5 million KL.

Meanwhile, if you want to implement B50, you need biodiesel of 19 million KL.

"Yes, of course, this is part of adding new investments, yes, then there is the availability of FAMEs based on CPO (crude palm oil)," he explained.

Dengan peningkatan penggunaan biodiesel, maka pemerintah bisa menghemat devisa negara sebesar 9,3 miliar dolar AS atau setara dengan Rp147,5 triliun.

"Kemudian peningkatan nilai tambah dalam negeri sekitar Rp20,98 triliun dan juga menciptakan lapangan kerja sekitar 2 juta lapangan kerja yang terkait dengan mandatori biodiesel ini," tandas Yuliot.

With the increase in the use of biodiesel, the government can save the country's foreign exchange of 9.3 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 147.5 trillion.

"Then the increase in domestic added value is around Rp. 20.98 trillion and also creates jobs of around 2 million jobs related to this mandatory biodiesel," said Yuliot.
