Reveals Chronology Of Bus Collision Of Shophouse In Cakung, Transjakarta Denies Brake Blong

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza denied the assumption that his bus accident that hit a kiosk, house and vehicle in Cakung, East Jakarta a few days ago was caused by a failed brake.

This was conveyed in a meeting with Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which discussed three cases of the Transjakarta bus accident this month.

"The condition of the fleet deserves surgery. So, there are no technical problems," said Welfizon at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 23.

The driver of the bus that crashed into a kiosk to a house on Jalan Raya Cakung Station and Jalan Damai on Friday, September 19 at 05.07 WIB, said Welfizon, has been working as a Transjakarta driver since 2008 and is now being covered by Steady Safe operators.

"Pramudi 54 tahun, masa kerja di Steady Safe 4 tahun 3 bulan. Namun sebenarnya ini sudah bekerja di operator Transjakarta dari tahun 2008. Jadi dari dulu zaman operator sebelumnya juga sudah membawa bus," ungkap Welfizon.

At the time of the incident, this female driver was turning back, but it turned out that there was a motorcycle rider who was in the blind spot of the driver until he was grazed. The bus then hit a car and a building.

"Because of panic, the driver should have turned around, this is the driver leading to a road that is not the Transjakarta route. It is about 180 to 200 meters away. This was yesterday that hit several buildings," he explained.

As a result, as many as 7 people were injured and taken to the hospital. Now, they have returned home. It was recorded that 3 vehicles and 4 buildings were damaged as a result of being hit by the bus. Welfizon admitted that the losses caused had been replaced.

"What we are doing is first of course resolving related to the impact, either in hospitals or buildings. Yesterday we were also assisted by the Mayor of East Jakarta to be able to help with some debris cleaning," he said.

Transjakarta also had discussions with the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) to evaluate the Transjakarta service that had an accident.

As a result, the management system is claimed to be still proper. So, in conclusion, this accident case was caused by human error problems and psychological factors for the driver.

"Yesterday we also presented a driver who was involved in this accident who met directly with the team at the NTSC. So the conclusion is that while more of the problems are human error or psychological problems," he added.
