After India, OpenAI Now Launches ChatGPT Go In Indonesia

JAKARTA OpenAI announced the launch of ChatGPT Go, a subscription package at affordable prices, in Indonesia. The package for this ChatGPT chatbot was previously only available in India.

This package is priced at 4.50 US dollars or IDR 75,000 per month. Even though the costs are much more affordable, users can still access various features that were previously limited to free accounts.

Nick Turley, Head of ChatGPT, explained that this package provides several advantages. Users get usage limits up to 10 times higher than free packages.

This limit applies to various activities, including sending questions, creating images, and uploading files. In addition, the conversation memory feature is also improved, allowing for a more personal response.

"We just launched ChatGPT Go in Indonesia," Turley said through his X account on Tuesday, September 23. "Customers (will) get a 10x higher message limit, 10x more image creation, 10x more file uploads, and twice as much memory as our free package."

Turley noted that since its launch in India, the ChatGPT Go package has doubled the number of paid subscribers. This shows that there is a strong demand for AI services at a more affordable cost.

OpenAI also deliberately chose Indonesia because this country is included in the list of the five largest markets of OpenAI based on its weekly number of active users. By presenting this package, OpenAI wants to attract more new users.

This move also puts OpenAI into direct competition with Google. The tech giant under the auspices of Alphabet recently launched an AI Plus package at a similar price in Indonesia.

Google's AI Plus package provides access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot. In addition, this package also includes other AI features that are integrated into Gmail, Documents, and Spreadsheets.
