Judge Rejects Rudy Tanoesoedibjo's Pretrial Motion, Suspect Status Valid
JAKARTA - A single judge at the South Jakarta District Court has rejected the pretrial motion filed by Bambang Rudijanto Tanoesoedibjo, also known as Rudy Tanoe.
The older brother of Hary Tanoesoedibjo filed a pretrial motion regarding his designation as a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the distribution of rice social assistance to beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) for the 2020 fiscal year.
"The judge, in the main case, rejects the Petitioner's pretrial motion in its entirety," stated single judge Saut Erwin Hartono while reading the verdict during a hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, September 23.
One of the grounds for rejecting the motion was that Rudy had already been questioned during the investigation phase of the case.
Furthermore, the process of naming Rudy a suspect was based on three valid pieces of evidence.
"Therefore, the Petitioner's entire motion must be rejected. This imposes a zero court fee on the Petitioner," said Judge Erwin.
With this ruling, Rudy's suspect status in the alleged corruption case surrounding the distribution of social assistance is legally valid.
Rudy's pretrial motion was registered with the South Jakarta District Court under case number 102/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL. The President Commissioner of PT Dosni Roha Logistik sued the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and its leadership.
In his petition, Rudy requested that the sole judge at the South Jakarta District Court declare the KPK's decision to name him a suspect arbitrary, as it violated procedures and violated the law. He requested that the KPK's suspect designation be deemed legally binding.
In the investigation of this alleged corruption case, the KPK also named Edy Suharto, the former Director General of Social Empowerment at the Ministry of Social Affairs and currently serving as the Minister of Social Affairs' expert staff for Social Change and Dynamics, and Kanisius Jerry Tengker, the President Director of PT Dosni Roha Logistik from 2020 to 2022.
