Korea Open 2025: Chico Silenced Ubed To Win Main Round Tickets
JAKARTA The men's singles badminton player Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo stopped the journey of his compatriot, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah, to penetrate the main round of the Korea Open 2025.
Both names won when they started their struggle in the Super 500 BWF level tournament from the qualifying round on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, morning WIB.
Chico started by securing victory in the first round of qualifying against Wang Yue Hang from England. The clash ended in two straight sets 21-14 and 21-12.
As for Ubed, Ubaidillah's nickname, started the struggle in the tournament with a dominant performance against Malaysia's representative, Teh Jin Hong. He won with a landslide score of 21-7 and 21-5.

Both won making the two names meet in the second round of qualifying. As a result, Chico managed to win in the three games 21-16, 13-21, and 23-21 to enter the main round.
"Earlier, even though I was left behind in the third game, I could be calmer to change my strategy. How to find opportunities and gaps for opponents," said Chico.
This result continued Chico's impressive performance, which last week won the Indonesia Masters Super 100 2025. The result ended his title drought since taking the highest podium at Taipei Open 2023.
"After last week's champions in Pekanbaru, there is no excessive hope here. I just want to focus on one game to the next game," Chico said.
On the other hand, this result extends Ubed's poor record on the second occasion of testing the Super 500 BWF level tournament. He previously also lost in qualifying for the Super 500 BWF debut at the Hong Kong Open 2025.
"From these two tournaments, I took a lot of good lessons. Especially when it's at the top level, his mind and mentality must be strong. He immediately lost a lot of points," said Ubed.
