Shipwreck In Sunda Kelapa Waters Loaded With Basic Food, Evacuation Still Running
JAKARTA - The Thousand Islands Police conducted an investigation regarding the Alexindo motorboat (KM) belonging to PT Abqori Prima Mandiri which sank in the waters of Sunda Kelapa, North Jakarta.
"The cargo ship was loaded with basic necessities. It was filled with 15 crew members, no injuries or casualties," said the Thousand Islands Police Chief, AKBP Arga Dija Putra when confirmed, Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
Currently, the shipwreck process is still under investigation by the Thousand Islands Police Satreskrim.
"Of course we will coordinate with KSOP. The results found in the field, the ship sank and the ship tilted so that the contents of the cargo or container goods inside the ship came out," he said.
Until now, the evacuation of the container is still ongoing. The police managed to secure several containers that got out of the ship.
"The evacuation is still ongoing, but several containers have been secured. The crew is safe," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Alexindo motorboat (KM) owned by PT Abqori Prima Mandiri was loaded with 86 container units and 15 crew members with the captain to Batam, Riau Islands, suddenly sank in the waters of Sunda Kelapa, North Jakarta on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Head of Sector VIII Gulkarmat North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands said the ship sank in the early hours of Monday at 03.05 WIB.
"Currently, the information has been withdrawn to the Sunda Kelapa Port," said Sumarno, Monday, September 22, 2025.
He further explained that this ship sank after an incident of a tilted ship that made the ship with a tonnage of 2566 GT sank.
"The cause of the shipwreck is not yet known," he said.
