The case of alleged corruption in credit management at the Ambon Unit Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Office with a suspect with the initials FJ alias Fita caused state financial losses of Rp1.975 billion.

"The actions of the suspect Fita have caused state financial losses of Rp1,975,257,330 based on an investigative report on the misuse of credit facilities and customer savings accounts by the Mantri at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Ambon City Unit 2020 to 2023 Number: 35/SR/LHP/DJPI/PKN.01/08/2025 dated August 12, 2025," said Aspidsus Maluku Attorney General's Office Agustinus Baka Tangdiling quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday 23 September.

According to him, the detention in question was carried out by the prosecutor on Monday, August 22 after a humanist approach was taken by investigators and Fita agreed to attend for examination and be immediately named a suspect in this case.

In its implementation, Aspidsus and his staff of investigators carried out an investigation at the investigation level based on an order issued by Kajati Maluku Agoes Soenanto Prasetyo, including the detention of suspects at the Ambon Class III Women's Prison for 20 counts from September 22, 2025 to October 11, 2025.

The suspect in his position as Mantri Kupedes at the BRI Ambon City Unit since 2020 is known to have abused credit facilities with credit disbursement results both in total and in part and savings accounts at BRI Ambon City Unit from 2021 to 2023.

The suspect's modus operandi was successfully revealed at the examination desk of the Maluku High Prosecutor's Office in the form of Maskan Credit, where the suspect borrowed and used the customer's identity card to apply for KUR, KUPRA and Kupedes credit.

The number of customers who were borrowed and used their identity cards was 31 people, with a credit value of Rp. 813,000,000.00 (eight hundred and thirteen million rupiah), then the money was used for personal gain.

In addition, the suspect gave a loan whose application began with an agreement to distribute credit funds between the suspect and the prospective debtor.

In completing the KUR and KUPRA credit requirements, the suspect conveyed and gave directions to prospective debtors who do not have a business related to the profile of the debtor's business, types of business fields, business addresses, business length, business ownership status and income, as well as suspects taking photo documentation of prospective debtors with the background of other people's business premises.

"With the display credit mode, the suspect Fita added the credit ceiling value of KUR and KUPRA to exceed the needs proposed by 11 prospective debtors in order to use part of the proceeds from credit disbursement of Rp271,730,180 for personal gain," he said.

Investigators also succeeded in uncovering several abuses committed by the suspect, including the misuse of credit disbursement from seven debtors amounting to Rp206,404,000, misuse of loan installments and repayment for 57 debtors amounting to Rp442,273,150 and misuse of customer savings accounts amounting to Rp241,850,000.

"All funds were withdrawn and used for Fita's personal interests and she did it alone so that she was named the sole suspect in this case," he said.

Regarding the alleged involvement of other parties, there is no such thing because the sole funds concerned will be opened by the prosecutor in the trial in court later.

As a result of his actions, the suspect caused state financial losses of Rp1,975,257,330 based on an investigative report on the misuse of credit facilities and customer savings accounts by the Mantri at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Ambon City Unit 2020 to 2023 Number: 35/SR/LHP/DJPI/PKN.01/08/2025 dated August 12, 2025.
