Minister Of Social Affairs: Naughty Students In People's Schools Are Fostered Without Being Released

BANJARBARU - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf ensured that naughty or problematic students who had registered with the People's School Program would be fostered sustainably without having to be expelled from school.

"No public school students should be expelled. If they are naughty or have problems, officers will provide special guidance," said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 22.

The Minister of Social Affairs gave an example that if in the future one of the students influences another student because of a naughty character and causes problems, the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has a special rehabilitation place for coaching.

"We will rehabilitate, whether medical assistance is needed, psychologists, or needs social rehabilitation. Social services will certainly be carried out," said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf.

The Minister of Social Affairs revealed that since the People's School Program was rolled out in July 2025, the Ministry of Social Affairs has found various delinquencys in children's characters in several places. Regarding these findings, his party carried out temporary coaching so that students were really ready to attend the People's School again.

The Minister of Social Affairs acknowledged that participants from various regions have different characters and backgrounds.

But the Minister of Social Affairs believes that the problem is only at the beginning because students still need an adaptation and adjustment process in the new environment.

"Indeed, there is always the dynamics of every program. We hope that school principals and teachers must be patient, starting from the period of student recognition, full of empathy and embracing. Challenges like this are natural, there must be children who are less conducive, I make sure they are not issued, they will still be fostered," said Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf.
