Innalillahi, Chairman Of MUI And Nu Elder In South Sulawesi, Haji Sanusi Baco Dies

SULAWESI - Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of South Sulawesi Anregurutta Haji (AGH) Sanusi Baco, LC died on Saturday, May 15 at around 19:00 Wita at Primaya Hospital, Makassar.

Public Relations Staff of Kemenag Sulsel Mawardy Siradj confirmed this. Information of the death of Anregurutta Haji (AGH) Sanusi Baco who was also the elder Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Sulsel breathed his last at the age of 84 years previously circulated in the WhatsApp group Kemenag Sulsel.

Kh Sanusi Baco's family, H Irfan also confirmed this. According to him, the health condition of graduates of Cairo University, Egypt continued to decline so that he was rushed to the nearest hospital.

Chairman of MUI Sulsel, known as charismatic, was buried in a funeral home in Kelapa III, Makassar. The figures and officials of South Sulawesi one by one crowded the residence of the deceased.

Regarding the burial site of the late Sanusi Baco, it is still being investigated by the family.  But most likely buried in the family cemetery in Talawe, District Bontoa, Maros.

During the life of maros's son, April 4, 1937, known diligently studying Islam. After earning his bachelor's degree at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Makassar, Sanusi received a scholarship to continue his education at Cairo University, Egypt and obtained his LC degree.

Sanusi has even built a pesantren Nahdatul Ulum in Soreang, Lau District, Maros Regency and THE Commander of the TNI, Marshal TNI, Hadi Tjahjanto together with the Police Chief, General Pol Tito Karnavian had visited the boarding school owned by AGH Sanusi Baco, on February 12, 2019.
