Garuda Indonesia Targets Add 7 New Fleets Before The End Of 2025
JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero/GIAA) continues to strive to expand its market niche by targeting the addition of seven fleets before the end of 2025. Garuda Indonesia's Commercial Director, Reza Aulia Hakim, said that until last August Garuda Indonesia had added five new fleets.
"Under the new management, until August 2025, Garuda Indonesia has added five new fleets. So that our total strength becomes 78 fleets," Reza told reporters, Monday, September 22.
According to Reza, the target of adding 7 new fleets is the largest addition in Garuda Indonesia management. "This is the largest addition of aircraft at Garuda Indonesia after the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
To maximize market potential, Reza said, Garuda Indonesia is focused on implementing strategic programs that rely on three pillars. Namely, financial and operational evaluation, acceleration of network performance and expansion.
"Financial and commercial evaluations are carried out through cost optimization and the implementation of cost leadership. To realize positive equity," he explained.
After going through the PKPU process, said Reza, Garuda Indonesia carried out a comprehensive transformation that received strong support from all stakeholders as performance acceleration.
Regarding network expansion, Reza said that Garuda Indonesia continues to add and improve fleets, expand cooperation with international airlines, and strengthen the aviation ecosystem.
"Through synergy with Citilink, GMF and other subsidiaries," said Reza.
Reza said Garuda Indonesia played a role in strengthening domestic connectivity by serving more than 70 cities in Indonesia. In addition, said Reza, Garuda Indonesia is also the only airline that operates more than 30 wide-body aircraft.
"In the future, Garuda Indonesia will gradually target the addition of more than 100 fleets, until 2029. So that Garuda Indonesia can connect more than 100 flight routes and control 50 percent of the domestic market share," he concluded.
