JAKARTA Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the availability of Amazon Bedrock in the Asia Pacific Region. This service can support the construction of a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) application and agent.

Amazon Bedrock has been available in several areas since 2023. With the presence of specifics for the Asia Pacific region, which includes Jakarta, AWS shows its commitment to adopting this technology in Indonesia and around the world.

This launch allows customers in Indonesia, including from the public sector, to take advantage of a generating AI. With local availability, Amazon Bedrock is believed to be able to provide more options in terms of storage locations and data operations.

"AWS is committed to supporting customers to accelerate their journey from the experimental stage to production in adopting AI-generatively, in an efficient and safe way," said Country Lead AWS Indonesia Anthony Amni in a statement received by VOI.

Anthony added that this service not only supports companies in developing AI applications or agents. Amazon Bedrock also provides reliable and cost-effective AI infrastructure.

Several companies in Indonesia are reported to have used this service to answer public needs. For example, to increase productivity, create innovative user experiences, to redesign how to work.

One of them is BPJS Kesehatan, which previously tried Amazon Bedrock to support their internal chatbots. The agency under the auspices of the government has adopted Amazon Bedrock since last year.
