Indian Musician Zubeen Garg Dies In Singapore
JAKARTA - Indian musician Zubeen Garg reportedly died at the age of 52, after diving in Singapore on Friday, September 19 last week.
Garg died after diving and had difficulty breathing. He received first aid and was rushed to the hospital. But unfortunately, his life could not be saved and died in the hospital.
Garg's death occurred just one day before its performance at the North East India Festival 2025 which was held at the Suntec Singapore Convention Exhibition Center. The organizers have also canceled the agenda.
"This is a very big sad news and words cannot express how great our sadness is," the organizers said on Facebook, quoted by CAN, Monday, September 22.
Zubeen Garg's sudden departure has shocked the Indian people. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, even expressed his condolences through a tweet on X.
"He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music. His works are very popular among people from various walks of life. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti," Modi wrote.

For information, Zubeen Garg is known as an Indian musician who mainly works and sings in the Assam,tineng, and Hindi language film and music industry. He has also sang in 40 other languages and dialects.
His musical career began in the early 1990s, with the peak of his popularity obtained when he performed Ya Ali, a song from the film Gangster: A Love Story in 2006.
