Regarding The Use Of Strobo, Commission III Of The DPR Except For The President And Leaders Of Ministries/Agencies

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR, Sarifuddin Sudding, welcomed the steps taken by the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, who temporarily suspended the use of sirens and rotators on the highway. He considered this step as an effort to control traffic.

"First, I appreciate and agree about the steps taken by Kakorlantas which stop the use of strobes on the streets because it disturbs road users a lot. I think this is so that traffic regulations can really be maintained," said Sarifuddin Sudding at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, 22 September.

According to him, the use of Strobo and siren should only apply to state leaders. "So it is really limited, it is tightened in such a way as to use thestrobe and so on, it is only these people, at least the head of state, state leaders, institutions and so on," he said.

Sudding then responded to the number of artists who rented the patent. He considered that the escort rental to speed up access on the people's roads must be stopped immediately.

"Well, in my opinion, this needs to be stopped, things like that will be stopped immediately, I think this is what interferes a lot," said Sudding.

"Moreover, say, for example, there are parties who do not have the competence to carry out escorts and so on, I think it will be stopped immediately by the police," continued the PAN legislator.

Sudding suggested that the use of strobes and patents be tightened only for the heads of institutions or ministries. He also admitted that he had never used Strobo and sirens even though he was a member of the DPR.

"Never. Not (if a member), only the leadership of the DPR," he concluded.

Previously, the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, said that his party had temporarily suspended the use of sirens and rotators on the highway.

However, Agus emphasized that the escort of certain official vehicles would still be carried out. However, the use of sirens and strobes is no longer a priority.

Agus conveyed this in response to residents' complaints about the "tot tot wuk wuk" siren from the disturbing guards on the road.

"We are temporarily stopping the use of these voices, while being evaluated thoroughly. The escort can still run, it's just that the use of sirens and strobos is evaluated. If it's not a priority, it shouldn't be heard," Agus told reporters, Sunday, September 21.
