Korea Open 2025: Indonesia Sends 13 Representatives
JAKARTA Indonesia sent 13 representatives to the Korea Open 2025 which took place this week. The representatives sent included defending champion Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.
The Super 500 BWF level tournament was held on 23-28 September 2025 at Suwon Gymnasium, Suwon, South Korea. This event provided a prize of 475 thousand US dollars or equivalent to Rp7.8 billion.
Men's singles are the sector with the most representatives, namely five. They are Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie, and Alwi Farhan.
Chico came to this tournament after successfully climbing the highest podium at the Indonesia Masters Super 100 2025, which was his first title since winning the Taipei Open in 2023.

The Papuan badminton player started his journey from the qualifying round with Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah. Chico will face Wang Yue Hang (England) and Ubed, Ubaidillah's nickname, against Teh Jin Hong (Malaysia).
From the women's singles, hope only rests with Putri Kusuma Wardani. The badminton player who was born in Tangerang appeared alone because Gregoria Mariska Tunjung was confirmed to be absent due to her relapse.
From the men's doubles, apart from defending champions Leo/Bagas, Indonesia also sent the pair Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Yeremia Rambitan and the semifinalist of the 2025 China Masters, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
Leo/Bagas last year managed to climb the highest podium in this event after defeating South Korean representatives, Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae. It was the couple's last title so far.
Apart from the singles, the women's doubles also have only one representative at the Korea Open 2025. The pair sent there were Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
The remaining Indonesian representatives at the Korea Open 2025 are from mixed doubles, namely Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, and Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil.
