The Baby Trading Network In Medan Was Revealed, Sold At A New Birth
MEDAN - Personnel from Sub-Directorate IV Reknakarta of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the North Sumatra Regional Police conducted further investigations of eight perpetrators suspected of selling three-day-old babies in Medan.
"The personnel are currently still investigating the case," said Head of the Public Information Sub-Division of the North Sumatra Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Siti Simandi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 22.
Siti continued that the perpetrator consisted of seven women and one man with the initials PT, JS, MBS, AM, SR, MS, SSE and BDS.
Furthermore, he said, the perpetrator was charged with Article 83 in conjunction with Article 76F of Law No. 35 of 2014 concerning amendments to Law No. 23 of 2002 concerning child protection and or Article 2 of Law No. 21 of 2007 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of trafficking in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
"The eight suspects are threatened with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison," he said.

Siti said that starting with personnel from Sub-Directorate IV Renakta of the North Sumatra Police Ditreskrimum arrested eight people suspected of selling babies in Padang Bulan Village, Medan Baru District, Medan City.
The eight people were arrested to be taken to the North Sumatra Police Headquarters, which allegedly carried out a baby sale transaction in Medan.
