'Anti Jagal Let's Take Care' Campaign, Voice Your Favorite Animal Rights

JAKARTA - Based on the records of various animal protection agencies, every year thousands of dogs and cats in Indonesia are still victims of illegal trade for consumption. These animals are often locked up, transported in overcrowded conditions, even experiencing torture before being slaughtered.

In addition to violating human values, this practice also poses a serious threat to public health. The World Health Organization (WHO) has repeatedly warned that trading and consumption of dog meat can be a pathway for spreading dangerous diseases such as rabies and other zoonosis.

For this reason, ipel, the pet food brand produced by CPPETINDO with Dog Meat Free Indonesia (DMFI), Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN), the Indonesian Animal Protection Coalition (KPHI) and the animal lover community, launched a national campaign entitled Anti Jagal Let Jaga, a moral movement calling for the termination of the practice of slaughtering to the trade of dog and cat meat, as well as inviting the public to be more concerned, responsible, and loving in caring for their favorite animals.

This campaign was held in the Car Free Day area, Central Jakarta, which started at 06.15 WIB. More than 100 participants walked from the Intiland Tower gathering point to Dukuh Atas Park while carrying the umbuls and posters of "Anti Jagal Mari Jaga" in front of many people in the Car Free Day area, Central Jakarta.

"Through this campaign, we want to change the perspective of the government and society, especially those who are still practicing dog & cat slaughter, that dogs and cats are friends, not meals. They have the right to live a safe, healthy, and free from fear and discomfort", said Hengky Jaya, Head of Marketing CPPETINDO.

The 'Anti Jagal Mari Jaga' campaign took place in the Car Free Day area, involving various communities & animal lover organizations.

We really hope that in the future there will be no more animal slaughters, especially dogs and cats in Indonesia, and the government can immediately make regulations regarding this matter," said Julianto

Some of the main programs to be implemented include:
