MIND ID Absorbs Thousands Of Workers Through Integrated Nickel Downstream Projects
JAKARTA - Holding of the Indonesian Mining Industry, MIND ID through PT Vale Indonesia Tbk continues to show its commitment to making significant social-economic contributions to the people in its operational area.
Through the integrated nickel downstream project Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) spread across Pomalaa, Sorowako, and Morowali, MIND ID encouraged the creation of more than 8,270 direct jobs.
MIND ID Pria Utama's Corporate Secretary said this project also contributed to the opening of thousands of indirect jobs in the mining industry support sectors.
Meanwhile, IGP itself is an integrated downstream initiative from upstream to downstream which aims to strengthen the development of the national nickel industry.
He said that this project focuses on processing nickel into semi-finished products that are crucial for the development of renewable energy and electric vehicles.
Specifically, IGP Pomalaa in Southeast Sulawesi has absorbed 4,156 workers, with details of 2,894 local workers (70 percent) and 1,262 non-local (30 percent), IGP Sorowako Limornite (Sorlim) in Sorowako absorbing around 381 workers with details of 355 local workers (93 percent) and 26 non-local workers (7 percent), and IGP Morowali in Central Sulawesi absorbing around 3,735 workers.
Men assert that every mineral downstream program run by the MIND ID Group is designed comprehensively to provide inclusive benefits, including creating large-scale jobs.

Thus, he said that Indonesia can further strengthen the basis for strengthening good performance while at the same time supporting equitable growth in the regions, and in accordance with the Asta Cita Presiden in realizing Indonesia Gold 2045.
"We ensure that the downstream project that we run in Sulawesi is able to present a multiplier effect that is directly felt by the community, especially through the provision of job opportunities, and increasing the regional economy," said the man in his statement, Sunday, September 21.
He also added that in 2024, Vale Indonesia has succeeded in absorbing 3,038 workers, of which 83 percent or 2,516 people are local workers living in districts around the company's operating area.
A total of 335 local employees occupy a managerial position, which is equivalent to 13.1 percent of the total local employees, or 45.33 percent of all managerial positions in the company.
Furthermore, the Man said that MIND ID continues to ensure that local human resources training and development programs are carried out in a sustainable manner, in order to improve the quality of economic growth in the regions.
