Akui Minta Pengawalnya Turn Off Sirine-Strobo Di Jalan, Panglima TNI: Ganggu Saya Juga

TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto admitted that he was also disturbed by the noise of sirens and strobo lights escorting vehicles on the road, as the community has complained about recently.

In fact, Agus claimed that he had ordered his staff to turn off the device when escorting the vehicle he was traveling in. Because, Agus also felt disturbed.

"I also directed my bodyguards not to read the strobe because it bothered us too. I also upset. I want to be comfortable too," said Agus when met at the National Monument (Monas) area, Sunday, September 21.

Agus also claimed that he did not want to use sirens and strobos to break through traffic lights. He also emphasized this to other TNI officials.

"Just look if I rarely use strobes. I stop at the red light. Kasad, all stop. I tell my unit to follow the rules," said Agus.

Agus admitted that he agreed that escorting the strobe, siren, and rotator lights was only intended for VVIP vehicles.

In Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (UU LLAJ), arrangements regarding vehicles that get main rights on the road are listed in Article 134.

Among them, fire trucks carrying out tasks, ambulances transporting sick people, vehicles to provide assistance in traffic accidents, vehicles led by state institutions, leadership vehicles and foreign state officials as well as international institutions that are state guests, convoys of corpse delivery, as well as convoys and/or vehicles for certain interests, according to Police considerations.

"I feel for VVIP, in the convoy there are rules, that's okay, if for special VVIP there are rules," said Agus.

Therefore, Agus claimed that he had warned the Military Police or POM TNI not to turn on the strobe and siren while escorting the vehicle he was traveling in when the road was empty.

"I tell my unit that if you follow the rules, unless there are things that really need us, we have to have a quick urgency, we need help. Also, such as ambulances, firefighters, we prioritize," he explained.

In recent times, the public has been enlivened with a movement that refuses to give way to vehicles using sirens. The movement was later known as "Stop Tot, Tot, Wuk, Wuk" and received support from many netizens and the community.

Regarding the movement, the Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, when met by reporters at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday, stated that the National Police had frozen the use of rotators and escorted car sirens (patwals).

"I am Kakorlantas, I frozen it for escort using the voices because this is also a disturbed society, let alone crowded," explained Agus Suryonugroho to reporters.

Agus also thanked the input given to the public, especially motorists who were disturbed by the noise of car sirens or Patwal motorbikes.

"All public inputs are positive for us, and I am evaluating this. Even if there are provisions at a time when using sirens, including tot tots, and I thank the community, for Korlantas while we (have) frozen," he added.
