Indra Sjafri Reveals Four Aspects That Footballers Must Have For A Long Career

JAKARTA - Former coach of the Indonesian U-20 football national team Indra Sjafri said there are four main aspects that young footballers in Indonesia must have if they want to have an old professional career.

According to Indra, these four aspects are to increase skills, hone mind intelligence related to strategies or tactics, strengthen physical resilience and build good mental or morals.

"All of this must be done if you want to build a career, after that you only pay attention to other aspects related to life as a professional player," said Indra in a press conference entitled "Move Now Camp Indonesia Edition" initiated by Allianz in Jakarta, Saturday, September 20.

He said that currently football has become a promising and far-reaching career choice compared to 20 years ago.

This is because the football industry and its ecosystem are getting bigger, so opportunities are wide open for children in Indonesia to have a career.

"Every time I coach a clinic, maybe 100-200 children, if I ask two things, who wants to be a national team player? Everyone raises their hands to the national team players. But as soon as I asked, who wants to be a doctor? No one wants to be a doctor. That is, the profession of football players has become a profession that is liked by children," he said.

In addition to technical matters, said Indra, participants who take part in activities are also educated about other aspects, such as the importance of preparing health insurance and others when becoming professional players in the future.

"In my opinion, insurance is as important as nutrition for an athlete. If it is nutrition, yes, good coaching yes, but how can it be comfortable, safe and focused. If something happens, there will be protection," said Indra.

Meanwhile, Allianz Life Indonesia Country Manager & President Director Alexander Grenz said the Move Now Camp provides exclusive opportunities for 30 children, consisting of 24 men and six young women selected to gain intensive and inspiring football training experience.

They are given the opportunity to hone their skills, build character and gain valuable insights into the world of professional football.

The participants were trained directly by national team coaches, such as Indra Sjafri along with Indonesian professional practitioners and football legends Maman Abdurrahman.

Alexander explained that the agenda was held two days until Sunday, September 21 and is part of the global Move Now program. Given, Allianz is committed to building a healthier, more active, and ready to face the future through sports.

"We want to campaign and contribute to encourage young Indonesians to live more actively and healthyly and build the character of the younger generation who are ready to face world challenges through sports," he said.

Through the Move Now Camp Indonesia Edition, Allianz wants to prove that sports are not only about physical and skills, but also related to building character, mental readiness and financial knowledge to face the future.
