Arne Slot Time: Liverpool's Victory Record In The Last Minute

JAKARTA - Liverpool have an interesting record this season. They are used to getting dramatic wins at the end of the match.

A series of matches were won with decisive goals in the final minutes.

In fact, Arne Slot's side have now won five games in a row in all competitions since the start of the 2025/2026 season with goals in stoppage time. Four of them came after 90 minutes.

This gave birth to the phrase "Arne Slot Time" appearing on social media whenever the Reds won before the final whistle sounded.

The Reds' four Premier League games this season were won with goals scored after the 80th minute (for the first time for any Premier League club in history).

Then, the victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in the middle of the week extended the record to the fifth match in all competitions where the winning goal was scored at the end of the match.

No other team in Europe's top five leagues have scored in stoppage time to match Liverpool's current record four domestic games, at least in the last 15 years.

A dramatic 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid on Thursday, 18 September 2025 WIB, also marked the first time since at least the 2012/2013 season where any top European team won five games in a row in all competitions with winning goals after the 80th minute or slower before early October.

Arne Slot's squad has now almost broken the Premier League record for the most winning goals in the final minutes of one season, namely seven goals, held together by Manchester United (2023/2024), Tottenham Hotspur (2014/2015 and 2002/2003), Arsenal (2011/2012), and Liverpool (2008/2009).

That record is still less than Barcelona, which scored nine winning goals in the final minutes of La Liga during the 2023/2024 season, only one more goal from Real Madrid in the same season.

You could say that achieving results with such a dramatic style in the final minutes will not last throughout the season. Or, maybe this is what Liverpool are doing now.
