API Prepares Kupang El Tari Airport To Accommodate Airplanes With New Routes
JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Injourney Airports) has prepared an international airport for El Tari Kupang to accommodate airlines that want to open new routes to Kupang, NTT.
General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) Indonesia, El Tari Kupang Airport, Aidhil Philip Julian in Kupang, Friday said that currently the apron capacity for aircraft parking is already very large.
"We are actually ready. We have 15 parking stands that can accommodate new flights to El Tari airport," he said, quoting Antara.
This was conveyed in response to the arrival of new flight routes from the Super Air Jet airline, which are now the first to open new Kupang-Jakarta and Jakarta Kupang routes, without transit.
In addition to Super Air Jet aircraft, he said, AP Indonesia at El Tari airport is also exploring with Garuda Indonesia airlines.
Philip said the apron at the airport was able to accommodate 15 narrow-body aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
El Tari has long been a flight hub in NTT. With the existing aircraft parking capacity, we are very ready to welcome new airlines as well as strengthen air connectivity in eastern Indonesia," he said.

In addition, said Philip, the airport is also preparing for the revitalization of the international terminal which has not been used for five years.
This, he said, was to support the plan to reopen flights to Dili (Timor Leste) and Darwin (Australia).
"Sebagai fasilitas keselamatan, El Tari sudah berstandar internasional," ujarnya.
He said his party continues to coordinate with various airlines, ranging from Super Air Jet, Garuda Indonesia, Air Asia, to new airlines such as Fly Jaya, to expand Kupang's connectivity with major cities in the western region of Indonesia.
