Foreign Minister Says He Has Communications About The Prabowo-Trump Meeting In The US
JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono said there had been communication regarding the possible meeting of President Prabowo Subianto and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of President Prabowo's visit to New York, United States.
However, his party has not yet received a schedule related to President Prabowo's meeting with President Trump, said Foreign Minister Sugiono.
"We haven't got a schedule yet," said Foreign Minister Sugiono quoting Antara.
For information, President Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Friday (19/9) night, to Osaka, Japan, followed by a visit to the US to attend the UN General Assembly in New York.
President Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a speech in third place in the UN General Debate session on September 23, 2025, after the President of Brazil and the President of the US.
This means that President Prabowo will be in the same location as President Trump when the UN General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters, New York is held.
When asked further about the possibility of the meeting between Prabowo and Trump, Foreign Minister Sugiono admitted that his party had not yet received a schedule even though it had established communication so that the meeting could be held.
"It's been (communication)," he said.
On the previous occasion, President Prabowo had time to talk about his conversation with President Trump regarding the import rate negotiations last July.
