The Appointment Of Dony Oskaria Strengthens The Momentum For SOE Transformation
JAKARTA - Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review (IPR) Iwan Setiawan assessed that the appointment of Deputy Minister of SOEs Dony Oskaria as Acting Minister of SOEs (Plt) by President Prabowo Subianto would strengthen the momentum of SOE transformation.
According to him, Dony's long experience in the financial, aviation, tourism, and his role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara has become a strategic capital to accelerate modernization and increase the competitiveness of state companies.
"He has a strong track record, both in private companies and SOEs, and has proven successful in leading various strategic entities. With that background, we are optimistic that he will be able to maintain the continuity of the improvement and strengthening of SOEs," said Iwan in a written statement received in Jakarta, Friday.
Dony's appointment is in line with President Prabowo's vision of emphasizing professionalism, integrity, and policy continuity.
"As the Danantara COO and deputy minister of SOEs, Dony has the capacity to connect government policies with industrial needs. That is an important capital in accelerating the transformation of SOEs to be more modern, adaptive, and competitive," said Iwan.
A similar hope was conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi who hoped that Dony's appointment would accelerate the process of improving state-owned companies.
"With this assignment, SOE restructuring can run faster. The process has been going on, either through the Ministry of SOEs or through Danantara," said Prasetyo.
According to Prasetyo, President Prabowo's move to appoint Dony Oskaria shows the government's commitment to maintaining the sustainability of the SOE transformation.
"Our focus is to strengthen the role of SOEs in order to be able to provide real benefits for the national economy," he added.

"In connection with the stipulation of Presidential Decree Number 96/P of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State for the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period, as well as to ensure the smooth running of tasks and functions of the Ministry of SOEs, the President appoints you to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Minister of SOEs until further directions or the appointment of the Minister of SOEs is definitive," the letter reads.
