The 16th IICD Corporate Governance Conference and Award 2025 with the theme Building Resilience through Good Governance: Thriving in Turbulent Times, is a recognition and award event for companies that have shown a commendable commitment in implementing GCG practices. The assessment was carried out on 200 issuers based on the largest and medium market capitalization (Big Cap) (Mid Cap) registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) assessment method.
SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as the main framework for sustainability is an integral part of SIG's business operations. The implementation of ESG makes the Company more adaptive and resilient in facing competition in the challenging national cement industry due to excess supply and contracted demand for cement.
"SIG integrates sustainability aspects in all operational activities and business processes to create added value for the environment and social sectors, including shareholders and other stakeholders. This award further motivates all GIS personnel to improve the sustainability performance supported by the implementation of GCG," said Vita Mahreyni.
Vita Mahreyni emphasized that the implementation of GCG by GIG was not solely to fulfill compliance with regulations but was based on awareness of its positive impact on the sustainability of the Company's business. The implementation of GCG is a strategic step for GIG to achieve performance growth, as well as a form of contribution in supporting economic progress by creating a conducive climate for investment development in Indonesia.
