80 Years Of IKADA Giant Meeting, Rano Karno: This Field Becomes A Witness For The Community To Strengthen National Sovereignty

Jakarta - DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held an 80th anniversary ceremony for the IKADA Giant Meeting at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta. This ceremony was chaired by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Rano Karno, and was attended by Governor Pramono Anung and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Civil Servants (ASN).

In his speech, Rano Karno revealed that the IKADA Giant Meeting, which was first held on September 19, 1945, was not just a historical record. Remembering today is a reminder of how the struggle of the people to maintain sovereignty is not an easy thing to carry out.

"This ceremony reminds us that the field in front of the City Hall is not just an empty field, but was once a witness to an extraordinary giant meeting, where the community confirmed the nation's sovereignty 80 years ago," said Rano Friday, September 19.

Rano emphasized that this momentum was an important reflection. According to him, the spirit of community unity and courage at that time needed to be maintained. Given, Jakarta is growing into a city with a greater role in the national and global economy.

"We must revive this spirit, restore our responsibility as public servants to serve the community," explained Rano.

Jakarta is targeting to be in the top 20 of global cities by 2045, when Indonesia celebrates a hundred years of independence. This achievement, according to Rano, needs to be accompanied by improvements in governance, focusing on improving the quality of public services and the welfare of the community.

Some programs are considered as indicators that steps towards this vision have begun: such as the Jakarta Smart Plus Card (KJP Plus), Superior Student Jakarta Card (KJMU), diploma bleaching, social assistance for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, increasing access to public transportation, job fair, expanding green open space, to digitizing services through the JAKI application and the QRIS system in the people's market.

However, the challenges to the realization of this grand vision remain real. The high public expectations, the need for budget transparency, the effectiveness of the bureaucracy, and the distribution of development benefits evenly throughout the community must be maintained so as not to create inequality.

Furthermore, Rano revealed that this momentum is a reflection of continuing to ignite the spirit for DKI Jakarta ASN as the frontline to present solutions in facing various urban challenges in the future, especially in providing applicative services that facilitate the lives of Jakarta residents.

"The commitment, competence, integrity and professionalism of DKI ASN must continue to be improved in order to create a global city that is competitive, sustainable and prosperous for its citizens as well as to drive the progress of the Indonesian nation," he added.
