Five Companies In Tangerang Allegedly Cemari Situ Cangkring
TANGERANG - Tangerang City Government, Banten has currently determined that five companies in the area are indicated to have carried out environmental pollution which caused the sudden death of thousands of fish in Situ Cangkring Periuk.
"From the inspection process and the laboratory test examination that we carried out, there was one company that was proven to have committed pollution and the source of organic waste was immediately temporarily sealed," said Head of the Environmental Capacity Arrangement and Improvement Division (PPKLH) of the Tangerang City Environment Agency (DLH), Dheny Kuntjoro, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 19.
He said the sealing process carried out by the Tangerang City DLH team had gone through the laboratory investigation and testing process in the past month.
"In fact, there are two locations for the source of organic waste polluting the Situ Cangkring Periuk environment," he said.
DLH also recommends administrative sanctions against one other company that are under the authority to supervise the DLH of Banten Province.
So far, the Tangerang City Government has carried out a surprise inspection of two companies with one company receiving administrative sanctions and one company not being proven to have committed a violation on purpose. "The rest are still in the process of being investigated," said Dheny.
The Tangerang City Government will continue to carry out regular environmental surveillance to ensure similar incidents do not happen again and preserve the environment in Tangerang City.
