JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) welcomes the presence of Afriansyah Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower. Meanwhile, Afriansyah was appointed by President Prabowo Subianto to replace Immanuel Ebenezer or Noel.
Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that with the joining of Afriansyah, it would further strengthen the Ministry of Manpower's programs, especially in increasing national productivity, expanding job opportunities, and strengthening protection for workers.
Moreover, continued Yassierli, President Prabowo paid special attention so that the Ministry of Manpower was more massive in organizing vocational training to improve the quality of human resources (HR).
The quality of human resources is the key to productivity. We need to expand the capacity of the training center in order to be able to reach more people, including the targeted internship program that continues to grow," he said in an official statement, Thursday, September 18.
In addition to focusing on productivity, Yassierli also emphasized the importance of expanding job opportunities, especially for vulnerable groups. He said the Ministry of Manpower encourages greater access for people with disabilities, vulnerable women, and household workers.
He added that the Housework Protection Bill that is being discussed by the DPR is expected to be ratified soon so that millions of household workers receive proper legal protection.
In addition, Yassierli also mentioned a number of strategic employment issues, including the protection of workers based on digital platforms, strengthening the Tripartite Cooperation Institution (LKS) as a forum for social dialogue between workers, employers, and the government.
Then, he continued, enforcement of labor norms to prevent violations including unilateral layoffs, as well as improving work safety and health (K3).
"The state must be present to ensure the protection of workers. There are indeed many challenges, ranging from the issue of unilateral layoffs, platform workers, to K3. However, this is a mandate that we must carry out together," said the Minister of Manpower.
Yassierli also emphasized that every regulation that was prepared must provide real benefits to the community.
"Imagine if we can open up job opportunities for 1,000 people, meaning that there are 4,000 family members who benefit. Especially if the regulations we make are able to protect millions of workers, then it is a great good thing for the nation," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor emphasized that he fully supports the duties and programs of the Ministry of Manpower. He is ready to accept every direction and order as long as it is correct, constructive, and in line with the Minister of Manpower's work program.
