Golkar Considers Mariyo’s Victory a Momentum to Build Unity in Papua

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia invited the people in Papua Province to unite after the Constitutional Court (MK) officially rejected the lawsuit against the results of the re-voting (PSU) against the Papuan gubernatorial election.

The statement was made by the Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Idrus Marham, responding to the Constitutional Court's decision on the victory of the Mathius Fakhiri and Aryoko Rumaropen as Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua who were elected for the period 2025-2030.

"The role of the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Bahlil Lillahadalia as the son of the nation who is recognized or not from Papua is recognized, but if we want to be honest, the role is very large in delivering this victory," said Idrus in Jakarta, Thursday, September 18.

He emphasized that Bahlil's role in the victory of the Mathius-Aryoko pair was very large. Remember, Bahlil is the son of the region of Papua.

"Therefore, in fact, it will have a big influence on delivering the victory of the pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor who were promoted by the Golkar party and several other political parties together aimed at today," he said.

Idrus emphasized that Bahlil reminded all of us, especially the elected governor and deputy pairs to jointly build Papuan territory. As well as being able to present a community welfare program.

"Together, mutual cooperation, us, these values actually inspire us to return to care for, build Papua. That is the direction of Bung Balil Lahadalia to all of us and I think this is very clear," he said.

"Yes, the direction is very clear. And because of that, the governor and deputy governor even though they are supported by the Golkar Party and several other parties including Gerindra, yes, these are 16 supporting parties but once elected, then this pair of candidates are the governors and deputy governors of Papua," he added.

On the same occasion, Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) of the Golkar Party DPP Umar Lessi DPP Golkar Party welcomed this victory with joy.

"Of course, I also want to express my gratitude and appreciation to all of the Coalition Party and volunteer friends, supporters, and of course the Papuan people, media that do not forget to also publish various kinds of activities and agendas of the Coalition Party in winning the Pilkada in Papua," he explained.

Furthermore, Lessi emphasized that building the Papua region must work together in order to make the national program a success.

"The most important thing that we want to convey is that with the end of this PSU, of course, we must focus on the new pair of governors and deputy governors, focusing on how to carry out development programs in accordance with the Astacita from the President," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Witness Board of the Golkar Party (BSNPG) Syahmud Ngabalin likened the Papuan gubernatorial election to the presidential election. This is because the dynamics that develop in the earth are various challenges.

"The PSU in Papua is the last PSU, so this is a national concern. So if the term in Papua is the Pilkada, the taste of the presidential election," he explained.

He hopes that with the victory of the Mathius-Haryoko pair, they can build effective communication between local governments and the community.

"That's why we hope that with Mariyo's victory, more effective communication can be built and can embrace all the lighting," he concluded.
