Demonstrators At Monas Experience Disadvantage Due To Epilepsy

JAKARTA - A participant in a demonstration from the mass of the Pioneer Alliance, the Reform Successor, experienced convulsions due to epilepsy in the South Silang Monas area, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The victim suddenly convulsed during a demonstration. Luckily, the victim was successfully evacuated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Dokkes personnel who knew about the incident.

Officers who have been alerted immediately move quickly to provide first aid.

"We do place a medical team at every point of action, because of the safety of all parties, both the action participants and the officers are our priority," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro when confirmed.

The police also swiftly appealed to the protesters not to approach and provide space for medical officers to work.

"We ask the masses not to crowd the location because what is needed in an emergency situation is space for movement and calm. And thank God, the masses are cooperative," he said.

After being given initial assistance, the participant was successfully alerted and then directed to rest outside the action area.

"We are not only present as security forces. We are also human, our compatriots. When there are those who need help, whoever they are, our job is to help. Because in the end, humanity must always come first," he said.

The demonstration then ended and the masses dispersed in an orderly manner.
