TNI AD Never Tolerates, Protects And Covers Soldiers Who Break The Law

Head of the TNI Information Service Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana emphasized that the TNI AD leadership has never tolerated, protected and covered up its soldiers who violate the law.

This was conveyed by the Head of Dispenad regarding the existence of two members of the Indonesian Army soldiers who served in the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) who were involved in a series of kidnapping and murder cases of the head of the Mohamad Ilham Pradipta bank branch.

Danpomdam Jaya Colonel CPM Donny Agus and Polda Metro Jaya in a press statement on Tuesday revealed that Sergeant N and Kopda F who served in Kopassus were involved in the kidnapping and murder of the late Ilham Pradipta.

"As the Danpomdam has said, the two members have a problem status, they are wanted for leaving the unit," said the Head of Dispenad after joint sports at the Indonesian Army Headquarters, Thursday, September 18.

"When he carries out his actions, of course not under control, control from the unit, it is personal," explained Brigadier General Wahyu.

Kadispenad said this incident was an evaluation for the Indonesian Army, that every soldier must be able to control himself from environmental influences.

"As stated in the release, involvement because he was invited, offered a certain condition, that is the evaluation material for the ranks of the Indonesian Army. When carrying out activities in the environment, you must really be able to have good self-control," explained Kadispenad.

"It can sort out which ones are positive, which ones are risky both for individuals and units, that's what we continue to remind," he continued.

"The Indonesian Army has never protected, tolerated such activities. We see all ranks, this is a risk like this, a legal process that must be carried out like this, every soldier must be able to see that. Later it will be an example, meaning I cannot follow that," said Abituren Akmil 1997.

As previously reported, two TNI AD soldiers were involved in a series of kidnapping and murder cases of the Branch Head (Kacab) of the Bank, Mohamad Ilham Pradipta. They are Serka N and Kopda F who serve in Kopassus.

"The connection with the unit concerned, they come from the Headquarters Detachment in Kopassus," said Danpomdam Jaya, CPM Colonel Donny Agus to reporters, Tuesday, September 16.

"Service N and Kopda F are in status being sought because they did not attend without permission," he said.

In this series of cases, Serka N acts as an intermediary between the suspect JP who is one of the masterminds of the kidnapping and Kopda FH.

The intermediary in question is to offer a job to Kopda FH of course in exchange for some money.

"The role in the person concerned is to find someone to forcibly pick him up," explained Danpomdam Jaya.

However, it was not conveyed in detail about whether or not there was wages or money received by Kopda FH.

Currently, the two soldiers have been named suspects and detained as a form of accountability for their actions.

He added that the attitude of the TNI AD leadership was clear, so that this case was processed in accordance with applicable legal provisions.

"The Indonesian Army has never protected, will never cover up any action from soldiers who violate the law, who do not comply with applicable regulations, illegal activities and the like," said the Head of Dispenad.
