BYD Seal 6 EV Ready To Debut In Malaysia September 26, Becomes The First Country Outside China

JAKARTA BYD is confirmed to launch the Seal 6 EV electric sedan in Malaysia on September 26, making it the first country outside China to come this model. In the domestic market, this car is known as Qin L EV.

Citing Paultan's report, Thursday, September 18, the Seal 6 EV was built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the same platform used by the Sealion 7 electric SUV. This sedan uses a single motor configuration on the rear wheels, although official specifications for the Malaysian market have not been announced.

However, referring to the Chinese market, this car is offered in three variants, with the basic model generating 150 PS (110 kW) and 220 Nm torque and providing a range of 470 km in CLTC calculations thanks to the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Blade 46.08 kWh battery.

Two other variants received stronger motors that issued 218 PS (160 kW) and 330 Nm, as well as a larger 56.64 kWh battery that provided a CLTC 545 range.

For charging, small batteries support DC fast charging up to 84 kW, while large batteries reach 103 kW. Both variants can be filled from 3080 percent in just 24 minutes. However, air conditioning is limited to 7 kW. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) to 6 kW features are also available, allowing users to use cars as electric resources.

Modern Design And Futuristic Cabin

Seal 6 EV appears in the design language of BYD's Dynasty series, with sleek headlights such as Atto 3 and Atto 2 (Yuan Up in China), as well as wide back lights that give the impression of sporty. The firm line on the body side gives an elegant and modern feel.

Entering the cabin, the cabin offers a clean design with a flat dashboard coated with spinning black panels. The storage features are quite abundant, including a double cup holder and an optional refrigerator under the back of the front hand. The design of the three-stop steering wheel was adopted from Atto 2.

As a modern electric car, the Seal 6 EV is equipped with an 8.8-inch digital cluster instrument and a 12.8 or 15.6-inch infotainment display that can be played.

Other features include six or eight speaker sound systems, power adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and driver side memory, a panoramic glass roof with an optional DiSus-C powering and adaptive damping (recently added to Seal).

The presence of the Seal 6 EV in Malaysia raises the question, will BYD also bring it to the Indonesian market?
