Don't Be Late, This Is How To Extend Windows Support 10 To 2026

JAKARTA Windows 10 support will officially end on October 14 when the operating system (OS) is still widely used. In fact, there are still 200 to 400 million users who use the OS.

That is, when this support is cut off, hundreds of millions of consumers will lose security protection from Microsoft. They can still use Windows 10, but without any feature updates or security patch updates.

This was deliberately done because many users were not ready to switch to Windows 11, even though the OS was almost four years old. The good news is that Microsoft provides the option to extend Windows 10 support for a year.

To be able to get this extension, users must act quickly. They must register before the official deadline for support ends. Otherwise, this opportunity will be lost forever.

Initially, Microsoft wanted to charge 30 US dollars (Rp494 thousand) to users who wanted to extend Windows 10 support. However, the company finally refused because of the large number of parties criticizing them.

Now, the Advanced Security Update (ESU) program can be obtained at no additional cost. Users will only get a regular security update for a year, not a new feature that can improve device performance.

Microsoft will not release additional features for Windows 10 during this period to keep the device safe from cyber threats. Here are the steps to sign up for the ESU scheme.

If the registration option does not appear, make sure your system has been fully updated. You need to install the KB5063709 update in August 2025 first. This update is needed so that the registration button can appear.

It's important to remember that this extension only lasts for a year. Microsoft doesn't seem to be offering an extension of support to ordinary users after 2026.
