YouTube Bets On AI To Become The Leading Video Platform
JAKARTA YouTube, which is now 20 years old, is no longer an ordinary video platform because of its 2.7 billion viewers. In fact, YouTube dominates American television.
This indicates how popular the platform is. Even though it has managed to excel in a number of countries, YouTube is still creative to attract more users. One of their efforts is to take advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
At Made on YouTube's annual event, executives explained the platform's vision to dominate the media industry in the future through AI. They highlight how this technology can be at the heart of the content creation process.
However, the development of large platforms such as Google also triggers concerns, especially if it is centered on AI. Therefore, the YouTube leadership has dismissed concerns that the AI features they present will replace the work of creators.
"This is just a tool and that's all," said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, quoted on Tuesday, September 18. Even though it's easy, creators still need ideas and other things that can't be done with AI. Therefore, Neal emphasized that AI will not take over the future of entertainment.
Mohan added that making videos on YouTube should be seen as a 'fierce path that is worthy, honorable, and sustainable'. He believes that AI will be increasingly concentrated in the process of making videos on YouTube over the next 20 years.

To prove its commitment, YouTube launched more than 30 new tools that utilize AI. These tools are designed to overhaul production processes and create new content more efficiently, for example like a new feature for instant editing video clips.
In addition, YouTube also introduced a video feature produced by AI to complete audio podcasts only. There is also a song-to-song generator that opens up new creative opportunities for creators.
YouTube's Vice President, Amjad Hanif, said that they could quickly launch dozens of AI features thanks to the internal team participating in using AI. This shows that YouTube is increasingly AI-oriented.
