Police Reform Committee Formed, National Police Chief: We Are Open To Criticism
After making the inauguration to a number of ministers and officials, President Prabowo Subianto will soon form the Police Reform Committee. Related to that, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit admitted that he was ready for the policy.
Listyo said that so far the Police have been trying to make changes to a better direction.
"From the beginning, we have always been open, especially with the committee, with the president's adviser, of course we will open up space for input and improvement. We will continue to do this," he said at the Presidential Palace, Wednesday, September 18.
He also admitted that he was ready to accept all criticisms and input from the public towards the Polri institution. Therefore, he emphasized that the Police are open to all transformations in the government
"So far, we have made efforts to transform for improvement. This means that the Police are open to evaluation of input from outside to continue to make improvements to institutions in our activities as well as what the community expects," he said.

Regarding the handling of the demonstration at the end of August 2025 which drew the spotlight, the National Police Chief stated that the services carried out by the police were appropriate.
"We provide services even if necessary, we facilitate dialogue and we provide security services. However, in terms of harming the public interest and violating the norms, there are stages that we must do," he concluded.
