Mbappe Tidak Cemas Belum Pernah Menyararai Liga Champions

JAKARTA - Xabi Alonso denied that Kylian Mbappe was worried that he had not won the Champions League with Real Madrid, having previously failed to lift the trophy throughout his career.

Mbappe joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain last summer. After the striker's death, PSG immediately won the Champions League last season for the first time in club history.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid were eliminated by Arsenal in the quarter-finals with a 1-5 aggregate despite Mbappe's overall good performance, scoring 44 goals in all competitions in the 2024/2025 season.

"He's not worried, no. We all feel this is a project that just started. One of the goals at Real Madrid is to win the Champions League. Hopefully it's sooner. However, we haven't talked about May (2026) yet," said Alonso.

Real Madrid started Alonso's debut season well, winning all four La Liga games so far -- having reached the 2025 Club World Cup semi-finals in the summer -- with Mbappe scoring four goals.

"I am optimistic (with Mbappe's performance). At the 2025 Club World Cup, Kylian was a bit 'light' because he was suffering from gastroenteritis."

"We're getting to know each other. Now you see what kind of player he is. He understands football. We need him and need the collective quality of the team," said Alonso.

Alonso further said Mbappe was without a doubt one of the team's leaders, in the second season of the striker in Bernabeu.

"With his personality, experience, and influence on others, he is one of them. When the team is solid and strong, others know where they are going to look," said the Spaniard.

Support also flows from Real Madrid's colleagues so that Mbappe realizes his dream of winning the first Champions League trophy in his career.

"Last year Kylian scored a lot of goals. He's still doing it this season. However, as a team, we also continue to grow."

"Kylian berada di level yang luar biasa. Kami tahu dengannya, kami memiliki peluang lebih besar untuk memenangi pertandingan," kata Aurelien Tchouameni.

Real Madrid face a difficult league phase in the 2025/2026 Champions League. After winning against Marseille 2-1, they will make a long journey to Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan and then the match against Juventus and Liverpool.
