Demonstrated By Mobs, The Indonesian Attorney General's Office Fence Is Covered With Tomatoes And Rotten Eggs
The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia (AGO RI) on Jalan Panglima Polim, South Jakarta was demonstrated by a group of masses from the United West Java People's Forum (Forjabar) on Wednesday, September 17.
The masses considered the stagnation of the execution of Silvester Matutina's verdict as an blurry picture of law enforcement in Indonesia.
Forjabar Coordinator, Usman Nazarudin in his speech said that Silvester was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison in 2019 to an insult to former Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
The decision, he continued, had permanent legal force, but until now the execution has not been carried out by the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).
"If the inkrah verdict alone cannot be executed, then what is the point of the court's decision? This Silvester case is a symbol of the dilapidated face of our law enforcement," said Forjabar Coordinator, Usman Nazarudin in his speech, Wednesday, September 17.
In its action, the Forjabar crowd carried out a theatrical by throwing tomatoes and rotten eggs at the AGO fence.
"The rotten tom and egg are a form of people's strong protest against legal institutions that are considered to have lost their authority over corrupt individuals," he said.

According to Forjabar, the stagnation of the execution was not just a technical negligence, but an allegation of a large force that deliberately protected certain parties.
"People should suspect that there is intervention behind the stagnation of this execution. If only small cases are protected, what about big cases such as DJKA corruption?," he said.
Not only that, the name of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Attorney General's Office, Patris Yusrian Jaya, was also highlighted. He was previously summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in a corruption case at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.
"Forgebra assesses that the Silvester case is only the tip of the iceberg. The stalled pattern of legal cases is always repeated when the same officials lead prosecutors in various regions. Stalled, not transparent, and smelled rotten," he said.
This Forjabar action strongly urges the Attorney General to immediately evaluate the Jakarta Kajati and ensure that Silvester's execution is carried out immediately.
"We want justice to be upheld, the Prosecutor's Office, which should be the legal bastion of the people, should not turn into the protection of a handful of elites, the Attorney General must firmly evaluate Kajati DKI and its ranks who uphold the law," he said.
This demonstration was under tight guard from the joint forces of the South Jakarta Metro Police. Meanwhile, the traffic flow was observed to be busy.
