Suspect Pengoplos Gas Portable From 3 Kg Gas Cylinder Claims To Learn From YouTube
Six suspects who mixed 3 kilograms of subsidized gas into portable tubes were arrested by the Tanjung Priok Port Police Satreskrim. The perpetrators carried out their actions at their respective homes which were transformed into home industrial gas oplosan.
"The production is almost all done in private houses, some are rented and in boarding houses," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKP I Gusti Ngurah Putu Krisnha Narayana, to reporters, Wednesday, September 17.
The six suspects had the initials IR (26), BK (32), FS (38), NT (20), HT (38), and AA (24). They admitted that they did not have special skills, but instead learned to mix gas from social media and YouTube.
"They are mixing gas as it should, not in official places like factories," said Krisnha.
The arrests began with public reports regarding illegal gas mixing activities. From the results of the investigation, the police found that the distribution of supply portable gas cylinders marketed through e-commerce, Facebook, to online stores at a lower price.
A number of portable gas cylinders circulating are not new or not according to manufacturer standards. This raises suspicion, so we bring the evidence to legal metrology for examination," said Krisnha.

"People do not get clean content according to the label. The filling method is also manual without certification, so it has the potential to endanger lives," he said.
From this case, the police confiscated a number of evidences along with six suspects.
The Tanjung Priok Port Police Chief, AKBP Martuasah Tobing, added that the disclosure of this mixing practice was important because it was suspected to be one of the triggers for the ship fire at Tanjung Priok Port.
