Losing In MotoGP San Marino 2025, Bezzecki Instead Makes Marc Marquez A Role Model

JAKARTA - Marco Bezzecki had to settle for his achievements in the 2025 San Marino MotoGP. Despite being defeated by Marc Marquez, he actually made the rival a role model.

Previously, during the Sprint Race, Bezzecchi, who was in pole position, succeeded in winning. However, he had to settle for being runner-up in the main race.

Bezzecchi could not stem and overtake the strong candidate for the 2025 MotoGP world champion. Despite being defeated, the Aprilia rider made Marquez's defeat as motivation for the future.

"In the end, we always want to leave the house to be the fastest and always fight for the position taken into account. Obviously now (Marc) Marquez won everything so he could dominate."

"We have to use that as a reference to learn from him, develop ourselves, and try to compete with him and then try to beat him," Bezzecchi was quoted as saying by Sky Sports, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

In the race at Misano Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Bezzecchi had approached Marquez several times. However, he could only follow the collector of the eight world titles.

Bezzecchi was 0.568 seconds away from Marquez who ended the race with a time of 41 minutes 20.898 seconds.

"I saw the race again and very close, especially at the end of the race. The last eight or nine laps were so good and it turned out to be interesting to see too."

"I'm happy, it was a nice day. Now we have to work hard because the part that is important and the hardest part of the championship is coming soon. We want to prepare as well as possible," Bezzecki said.

Bezzecki is currently ranked fourth in the MotoGP 2025 drivers' standings. With 229 points, Bezzecki is no longer possible to become world champion.

However, the rider who debuted in MotoGP in 2022 still has the opportunity to become runner-up or third-ranked resident in the final standings.
