Coordinating Minister Airlangga Calls The IEU-CEPA Agreement Signed September 23, 2025
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership (IEU-CEPA) trade agreement would be signed on September 23, 2025.
This was conveyed by Airlangga while attending the Green Initiative Conference (GIC) at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 17.
"God willing, on the 23rd of this month we will sign a full agreement IEU-CEPA," said Airlangga.
With the signing of the trade agreement, said Airlangga, 80 percent of Indonesia's products entering Europe will be subject to a rate of 0 percent, and vice versa.
"We hope that Indonesia's trade with the European Union will increase 2.5 times (fold). Now it's around 30 billion billion (billion US dollars), maybe we hope this can increase to 60 billion in 5 years," he said.

According to Airlangga, the value of Indonesia's trade lags behind Vietnam. The reason is, Vietnam had already entered into a trade agreement with the European Union.
"Now Vietnam is much higher than us almost twice, because they have already started compared to us," he added.
The IEU-CEPA is a trade and investment agreement designed to open the door to a wider market between Indonesia and the European Union.
The agreement includes a number of cooperation in the field of increasing trade, investment and services to regulation and trade standards.
