Alonso Rejects Discourse To Dismiss Vinicius, Real Madrid Is More Collective
Alonso prefers Rodrygo and Franco Mastantuono as the main wingers of Real Madrid against Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, early morning WIB.
The composition means Vinicius Junior is being reserved for the second time this season. However, the Spaniard again dismissed the discourse of removing Vinicius from the squad.
All he does is for the fitness needs of players in the middle of a busy schedule.
"We need Vini, Rodrygo, Franco, Brahim (Diz). If there is a private conversation, they stay in Valdebebas or in the dressing room."
"There will be moments for everyone. Nobody should be offended if they don't play, the schedule is very tight," said Alonso.

Real Madrid were able to secure three points in the Champions League opener by beating Marseille 2-1, through Kylian Mbappe's two penalty goals.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said the team's collective approach had changed under Alonso, compared to its predecessor Carlo Ancelotti.
That idea is what now makes Real Madrid stronger and does not depend on just one player. The game system is also running collectively, which while defending all the players also work.
"The problem is when you don't stick with 11 players, with the whole team. The coaches are now really watching the wingers, and Kylian, and attacking midfielders like Arda (Guler) for example."
"They have to come back quickly behind the ball and that changes a lot, that's the difference. We have to keep doing it," Courtois told Movistar.
Meanwhile, according to UEFA, Mastantuono became the youngest player to start for Real Madrid in the Champions League.
At the age of 18 years 33 days, the Argentine midfielder surpassed last year's record by Brazilian striker Endrick, who turned 18 years old 73 days when he started for Los Blancos against Lille.
Real Madrid's next match in the Champions League is away to Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan on September 30, 2025, before they host Juventus on October 22, 2025.
