What Is The Fate Of Electric Motorcycle Incentives In 2025? Coordinating Minister Airlangga Gives This Answer

The amount of electric motorcycle incentives and when the implementation has not been disclosed to the public so far.

In fact, the provision of incentives from the government can increase sales of electric motorcycles in the country.

Previously, the government targeted that electric motor incentives would continue in August 2025, but until now there has been no clarity.

Related to this, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the incentive was an extension.

"(The electric motor incentive) is just an extension," Airlangga answered briefly when met by reporters after attending the Green Initiative Conference (GIC) at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 17.

When asked further when the electric motorcycle incentive could be applied, Airlangga did not provide an answer.

Previously, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso said incentives for the purchase of electric motorcycles would be combined in economic stimulus packages for the third quarter of 2025.

He explained that his party had received a letter from the Ministry of Industry and immediately reviewed the finalization of the detailed rules of the incentives.

"That's right, because (the implementation schedule) is delayed, right. Yesterday we received a letter, Kani together in one economic stimulus package," said Susiwijono, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 12.

Susiwijono emphasized that the incentives for electric motors will continue, but will be combined in a broader package of economic stimulus.

Even so, technical certainty regarding the amount and time of implementation is still in the discussion stage.

"Yes, we received a letter. Then the Coordinating Minister (Airlangga Hartarto) has conveyed it. We are reviving economic stimulus programs in the third quarter. In addition, the Coordinating Minister is also preparing how many programs in 2026. So, we have received the letter, now we will review everything," he said.

However, until now, the government has not announced how many incentives will be disbursed and when it will take effect.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has also opened his voice regarding this matter.
