The DPR Building Is Still Being Guarded By The TNI-Polri, Legislators: That's The Intelligence Function
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission XIII DPR Andreas Hugo Pareira responded that the TNI-Polri were still guarding the DPR building. According to him, the deployment of security forces is part of the intelligence function.
This was said by Andreas in response to Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin's statement regarding the withdrawal of TNI-Polri personnel and soldiers in the parliament complex still waiting for a more conducive atmosphere.
"Of course the security forces know exactly when it needs to be withdrawn and when it is still here. In the sense that so far we have an intelligence function, we have a security function that should be able to guard. Because here, journalists also have to work by going in and out here," Andreas said at the DPR building, Wednesday, September 17.
"Don't let it become an obstacle to being disturbed by friends from work. But also friends who work also need security. We all work here need a safe situation," he continued.
Although there were no demonstrations that led to the DPR building, according to Andreas, security still needed to be carried out. Because he said, chaos could occur in the midst of a conducive situation.
